Tooled Leather Journal Cover

Last year, I noticed my daughter checking out a leather-covered writing journal at a local gift store, so I decided to make one. I purchased a pattern for leather cover to fit a standard, A5 notebook. I cut and punched all the pieces using 3-4 oz veg-tan.

For the design, I took inspiration from one of my daughter's favorite games. I consulted a couple of YouTube videos for advice on rendering the trees and fur texture, and then carefully began carving. This is the largest scene carving I have attempted.
